  The Gull used to be a great place years ago. Unfortunately in the last few years it has gradually declined into the mess it is today. Terrible rude and inattentive staff who care more about playing with their phones and socializing with each other than actually serving the patrons. The beer on tap is usually flat and stale, but don't try and complain or you're sure to get a lecture! Food will come out cold from sitting in the kitchen while the waitresses ignore it. Some waitresses are incredibly rude and their faces would crack if they ever smiled! They give off the vibe that they would rather be anywhere else than there. Prices are also astronomically high across the board: drinks, food, and offsales. From what I understand, the Gull has now changed hands, and the new owner has dropped all live music. That is the final nail in the coffin for the poor old Gull.

  Very friendly service, and their prices are more than fair. This is a great place to come to for breakfast on the weekends as they keep their breakfast menu out until 3 or 4 I believe. My missus loves their eggs Benny and I often get their big breakfast of 3 eggs/toast with bacon, sausage and hash browns. I'd love to come try their past and wine night, seems like a really good deal at ~$15

  Incredibly noisy, with no consideration for the numerous residents in neighboring and nearby blocks. I'm a street down from them and I constantly feel the bass, and hear the music, from the live entertainment in my suite. It makes me feel sick. I've visited them twice to ask them to turn the music down and almost broke my eardrums upon entering the building because while it seems loud from the outside, it's even worse inside - how do people even have conversations in there? I've also tried calling them instead of physically heading over to the building, but the woman who answered the phone hung up on me because "she couldn't hear me". Not only is this incredibly rude and easily managed by moving to a different area of the building (or outside) so she can hear me properly, but it didn't help at all and I had to get up in the middle of the night and walk over there to complain in-person. Considering making a bylaw complaint and calling the cops if this continues. WAY. TOO. LOUD.

  The local neighbourhood pub feel. I wouldn't trust them to clean the lines for their beer but its a pleasant atmosphere. Bar Food is the norm. Live music on the weekend and a patio for some fresh air. Best place to watch a sports game due to their projector and the fact that most people don't know about it!

  The North Vancouver noise regulation bylaw, in section 5, d, iii, prohibits amplified sound from 8:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Sundays where it's audible on premises other than the originating property. It's currently Sunday, half an hour before midnight. I can hear the amplified sound from inside my unit with windows closed. Pub or not, grandfathered or not, there is no conceivable reason I should be able to hear this noise. There is no reason it needs to be this loud. Especially on a Sunday night when I have work in the morning.
